Grow your driving instruction business with ACG Driving School
Are you a qualified driving instructor or trainee driving instructor looking for more pupils in Nottingham?
ACG Driving School is building a trusted local team of manual and automatic driving instructors across Nottingham and the surrounding areas.
The ACG Driving School franchise is designed for instructors who want support with finding new pupils while remaining self employed and in control of their own working day.
You choose the areas you cover, the hours you work and the number of pupils you are able to accept.
Whether you are an established ADI with space in your diary or a trainee driving instructor looking to gain valuable teaching experience, we would be pleased to hear from you.
Why join ACG Driving School?
Pupil enquiries in your chosen areas
ACG actively promotes driving lessons across Nottingham through its website, online presence, social media, local advertising and community partnerships.
Suitable learner enquiries can be offered to you according to:
- Whether you teach manual or automatic
- The areas you cover
- Your current availability
- The learner's location and requirements
Keep control of your diary
You decide when you work and how many lessons you provide.
You will not be required to share your entire personal diary with ACG Driving School or use a specific diary management application. We only need accurate information about your general availability and whether you are currently accepting new pupils.
Continue teaching your existing pupils
Joining ACG Driving School does not mean giving up the pupils you have generated independently.
You can continue teaching your existing private pupils while also accepting pupils supplied through ACG Driving School.
A franchise that grows with your pupil numbers
The ACG Driving School franchise uses a staged fee structure linked to the number of verified active pupils supplied by ACG Driving School.
This means the arrangement can begin at a smaller level and develop as ACG Driving School helps you build your pupil base.
The full franchise fee structure is discussed privately. No payment arrangement begins until it has been clearly explained, agreed and confirmed in writing.
Four fee free holiday weeks
Instructors can apply for up to four fee free holiday weeks during each rolling 12 month period, subject to the holiday terms in the franchise agreement.
This gives you the opportunity to take planned time away without paying your normal ACG Driving School franchise fee during approved holiday weeks.
No lengthy fixed term commitment
ACG Driving School does not intend to tie instructors into an unnecessarily long fixed term contract.
The arrangement operates under clear written rolling terms covering pupil enquiries, payments, branding, data protection, holidays and what happens if either side decides to end the relationship.
You will have the opportunity to read and understand the full agreement before making any commitment.
Local and personal support
ACG Driving School is an independent Nottingham driving school.
You will communicate directly with the owner rather than dealing with a large national call centre. Questions, pupil enquiries and any concerns can be discussed personally and promptly.
A growing local brand
ACG Driving School provides a professional brand under which you can promote your driving lessons.
Depending on the final arrangement, this may include:
- An approved ACG Driving School roof sign
- A profile on the ACG Driving School website
- Inclusion in relevant local area pages
- Promotion through ACG Driving School social media
- Branded promotional materials
- Support with building your local presence
All ACG Driving School branding must be used in accordance with the franchise agreement.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for professional, patient and reliable instructors who care about the standard of tuition they provide.
You should have:
- A valid ADI registration or trainee driving instructor licence
- A suitable manual or automatic tuition vehicle
- Proper driving instructor insurance
- Professionally fitted dual controls
- A clean, safe and presentable vehicle
- Good communication and customer service
- A willingness to respond promptly to new learner enquiries
- A commitment to safe, responsible and pupil centred tuition
Applications from trainee driving instructors will be considered subject to DVSA licence, sponsorship, supervision and training requirements.
Manual and automatic instructors welcome
ACG Driving School currently receives enquiries from learners looking for both automatic and manual driving lessons.
We therefore welcome applications from:
- Automatic driving instructors
- Manual driving instructors
- Fully qualified ADIs
- Eligible trainee driving instructors
- Instructors looking to add pupils to an existing diary
- Instructors looking to develop a larger local pupil base
- Multilingual instructors
- Instructors who are confident supporting learners with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, dyspraxia or dyscalculia
You do not have to cover the whole of Nottingham. We can discuss the specific towns, neighbourhoods and postcodes that suit you.
Your questions, answered
Can I choose my own working hours?
Yes. You remain self employed and control your own working hours and diary.
Can I choose which areas I cover?
Yes. We will agree the towns, neighbourhoods or postcodes that are practical for you.
Do I have to accept every pupil?
No. Enquiries should only be accepted when you genuinely have the availability and can reasonably cover the learner's location.
Can I keep my existing pupils?
Yes. You can continue teaching pupils you have obtained independently.
Do I have to share my full calendar?
No. You will not be required to share your full calendar or provide ACG Driving School with access to your personal diary.
You will, however, need to keep ACG Driving School informed about your general capacity, whether you are accepting new pupils, and the current status of pupils supplied by ACG Driving School. This includes confirming whether each pupil is taking lessons regularly, has temporarily paused, has stopped lessons or has passed their driving test.
Do I need my own car?
You will need to provide your own suitable tuition vehicle with the correct insurance and professionally fitted dual controls.
Can manual instructors join?
Yes. Applications are welcomed from both manual and automatic driving instructors.
Can trainee driving instructors apply?
Yes. Applications from trainee driving instructors may be considered, subject to the relevant DVSA licence, training, sponsorship and supervision requirements.
Is there a long fixed term contract?
The proposed arrangement uses written rolling terms rather than an unnecessarily lengthy fixed term commitment. The notice and exit arrangements will be explained before you join.
Are pupils guaranteed?
No responsible driving school can guarantee that every enquiry will book or remain active. ACG Driving School will actively market its services and offer suitable enquiries according to your areas and availability.
Are the franchise fees shown online?
No. Franchise fees and individual arrangements are discussed privately and confirmed in writing.
